Dear Nabeela

Thank you for sharing such an important topic with us as parents.

Parents wats their children to do something they enjoy while ensuring their future stability.

However, in the AI era, predicting which jobs will thrive and which may disappear is becoming increasingly difficult.

The story you shared about your son, I will share it with my 17 year old son, is a great reminder of how crucial it is for kids to understand what they’re aiming for and how AI will influence their career choices. More than ever, they need to develop adaptability to navigate these rapid changes.

With such a fast-paced transformation, governments must play a key role in equipping school counselors with the right knowledge to guide students toward future job market demands. We need career advice that aligns with the skills and degrees that will be relevant in the next 5 to 10 years.

A major challenge is that many young people don’t know what they want, and more importantly, they don’t know what they don’t know. Only a small percentage have a clear vision, while most struggle to find direction. As parents, we try our best to guide them, knowing that we might be right, but we might also be wrong.

That’s why stronger support systems at home and in schools are essential to help the next generation navigate uncertainty and make informed decisions about their future.
